"Reel Religion: A Century of the Bible and Film" Exhibition

Biblical narratives and history have been a source of inspiration for movie-makers throughout the world. Reel Religion is composed of over 50 vintage posters advertising international Biblical films that will be examined for their promotional savvy as well as artistic quality. The collection also will provide the opportunity to compare and contrast unique national approaches to promoting the same films with worldwide distribution. Enhancing the exhibition will be a selection of film memorabilia including movie programs, motion picture stills, costumes and objects used in some films, lobby cards, correspondence between directors and their financial backers, and photoplay books released to promote the epics.
