Yvonne Thomas is one of the most lyrical painters to emerge from the Abstract Expressionist era. Hallmarks of her remarkable oeuvre include freshness and spontaneity of mark-making, an exquisite color sensibility, and shimmering tonalities. Thomas’ forms cavort across the picture plane, playfully jostling and nudging one another while creating a pleasurable abstract dynamism.
