This event has ended.

In "Halfwit Passage" Pluhar guides the viewer through her own fool’s journey as she explores archetypes drawn from mythical, spiritual and personal experience. Balancing the polarities of her own mixed-Jewish and Christian heritages along with an inborn global perspective, Pluhar’s work encompasses powerful figures drawn from Christian, Jewish and ancient Greek spiritual traditions. Number one on Pluhar’s list is the High Priestess who, in the classical pose from the Rider Waite deck, is seated on a throne in front of a curtain. In Pluhar’s vision, the viewer is transported beyond the curtain to encounter the powerful woman within the ceremony. Here, the High Priestess has removed her formal robes and now wearing a simple shift, sits at a wooden table eating a bowl of porridge. “It was the sense of mystery which attracted me to this image,” Pluhar says, “the sense that beauty is inexplicable and that’s okay.”
