Known for his rigorous studio practice involving a variety of materials and approaches, the idea behind the title is the understanding that any single element from this body of work is necessary and with equal importance as all other elements. The notion claims that without even the smallest gestures, the larger efforts can not truly be seen as intended, and that all parts are equal.
In this new body, Bluechel presents several groupings from his past months addiction to ceramics, creating and appropriating forms to appear jumbled in structure and color. At interest for Bluechel is the seductive looseness of the ceramic medium in contrast to its finite state when the work is completed after firing.
