This event has ended.

The Leila Taghinia-Milani Heller Gallery will be the site of the fourth solo exhibition of sculptor Arnaud Rivieren, a Belgian who has been residing in Dubai for six years. The artist will present a collection of sculptures made of steel, stainless steel and industrial trash.
Over the years, Rivieren has developed a decidedly minimalist style as he experimented with stainless steel recycled from the industrial scrap yards of the United Arab Emirates. This new collection of work demonstrates that Rivieren has set himself free from the constraints of this medium in an effort to emphasize the conceptual value of sculpture. The Hatching questions themes of origin and issues of free-will - a ruminative process that found primary solace in the shape of an egg. Set in a confounding array of surreal situations, giant stainless steel eggs are brimming with studied symbolism, but the viscal impact alone sets the imagination alight. There is an intrigue in each and every piece created: whether the viewer will figure out many angles of understanding and the symbols they may contain, or will be fascinated by the way Rivieren has been playing with the tremendous weight of steel like it was as light as a bird.
