Theo Scharf “Europa”
ILIAD
This event has ended.
Theo Scharf, painter, etcher and art teacher, was born in Melbourne, Australia and was considered a child prodigy of both painting and music. He had his first art show at 14. The proceeds of that first exhibition helped fund a trip to Germany, rather than Paris, to study art in 1914, a decision that influenced his work for the rest of his life. ILIAD will show a series of 14 limited edition “Europa” lithographs that were created in 1922 as “Lithographic designs” and were printed in Munich in an edition of 300 at the Dr. C. Wolf & Sohn printing office for Georg Muller-Verlag.
