The artists' fascination with music and its various manifestations, modes of expression and effects constitutes the thematic focal point of the exhibition. Yet, even though linked by a common interest, the different pieces show how manifold the individual approaches to and interpretations of music actually are. Featuring photography and video, the exhibition tries to explore the complexity that arises in the depictions of one artistic medium by means of another and emphasizes the dichotomy between different genres. The oppositions of sound and silence, performance and still life, permanence and fleetingness are among the challenging aspects that arise in the dialogue between visual art and music.
