This event has ended.

Tim Mantoani’s on-going photographic series, “Behind Photographs,” is a testament to the talented men and women who have captured some of the most recognized photographic images of our time. The gifted individuals featured in this partial exhibit include past and present Lucie Honorees such as Marvin Newman, Elliot Erwitt, Harry Benson, Mary Ellen Mark, and Herman Leonard, to name a few. The overall project is dedicated to the talents who have forged innovative and inspirational ground over the past decades and the images that they have selflessly provided to all of us for generations to come.

Mantoani decided to capture historic photographers and their images in one 20X24 print. Utilizing a 20X24 Polaroid camera – a rare and mammoth view camera, he has already documented over 100 photographers in this massive historical journey a few of which will be on display in this special Lucie Honoree exhibition at the Farmani Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. “Behind Photographs: Archiving Photographic Legends, is a historical journey that will continue to capture the faces behind the lens, the personalities and moments captured by them and a medium that in time will no longer exist.” – Tim Mantoani

The Lucie Foundation’s three-fold mission is to honor master photographers, to discover and cultivate emerging talent and to promote the appreciation of photography worldwide. The photography communities from countries around the globe pay tribute to the year’s most outstanding photographic achievements at the annual Lucie Awards ceremony. The Farmani Gallery is proud to partner with the Lucie Foundation to continue promoting these common goals among the community and the industry of photography.
