Alicia Eaton Lewis “On Becoming 50; 365 days of words encoded with eraser cut images”

Site&Images Chelsea

This event has ended.

PaulaBarr chelsea will present On Becoming 50: 365 words encoded with eraser cut images, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Alicia Eaton Lewis, an artist who draws her inspiration from her worldwide travels.

Samuel Butler said, "Every man's work, whether it be literature or music or pictures or architecture or anything else, is always a portrait of himself.”

PaulaBarr chelsea presents the work of an artist who shares her experiences through the originality of her work. Her vision shows the truth of Butler’s words.

As a creative person, Alicia wears many hats. She has lived and traveled far and wide over the years and acquired a wide range of interests, experiences and skills. As time progresses, it becomes easier and easier to see how one’s “life pieces” fit together. The best way to celebrate that is for Alicia to share her perspectives visually with the public as brilliantly shown in her current exhibition and at www.AliciaEatonLewis.com

Her work is best described as Iconographic. Iconography is a way to identify, describe or support “conventional” meanings visually. By using different types of images, symbolic references or cultural motifs, Alicia is able to represent people, places or things much like a portrait or group of portraits.
