"Sic Transit Gloria: The End of the Road" Exhibition
Atlantic Gallery
This event has ended.
As the world’s second largest automaker, General Motors, files for bankruptcy, Atlantic Gallery announces its summer group show "Sic Transit Gloria ~ The End of the Road," an exhibition of artwork concerning all things transit and transitory by over 50 artists. The complete phrase ‘Sic Transit Gloria Mundi’ translates as ‘Thus Passes the Glory of the World’, but recent headlines about increased congestion, pollution, and diminishing resources might imply ‘thus passes the glory days of cheap oil’ and the ‘free ride’ that came with it. Paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture relating to travel, actual and ephemeral; by plane, train, automobile or camel.
