Jobim will present five large-scale modulated paintings in blue and burgundy. After having showed at the Lehmann College Art Gallery an installation with paintings placed side by side covering the walls of the exhibition space, Jobim now presents independent paintings. Each one of them is composed of three to four canvases, oil on linen, which are nevertheless put closely together, side by side. The canvases have different depths, thus creating volume variations within each work. New areas of color appear in the sides of the canvases, allowing forms and angles to multiply. The paintings are either in blues or reds, always contrasted with white. Lines and masses of color have subtle nuances in them, which also change when confronted to the brilliance of the white.
