Stuart Shils "Italian Monotypes"

In the summer of 2008, Stuart Shils traveled to Italy to teach at The Jerusalem Studio School, a program he has previously been involved with in Montecastello de Vibio, Italy and Jerusalem, Israel. Although based outside of Corciano, a town in the province of Perugia, SHILS had the opportunity to travel throughout Campania, Umbria, Tuscany, the Marches, the Veneto, andEmilia-Romagna, and was inspired by the landscape, architecture and fine arts of these regions. These works were derived from the drawings and notes he took while in Italy, and were executed in his studio in Philadelphia.
