Iranian artist Pooneh Maghazehe conducts a series of rituals that stumble between private ceremony and private spectacle. Resurrecting the sense of faith and allegiance, she merges elements of hip-hop culture with ancient Muslim rituals while dressed in Amish inspired textile sculptures. What emerges is a baptism of symbols in which the "sacred" resides. Curated by Sam Bardaouil. Exhibition walkthrough followed by a reception for "Dream in a Contemporary Secret Garden: Mixed Media Works by 12 Asian Artists."
