Rate of Change, part of Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center’s New York Electronic Arts Festival, features artworks by eight artists working in immersive video and audio installation, audience and environmentally responsive sculpture and experimental narrative. Charting the transition of electronic art from the 20th to the 21st century, the exhibit is anchored by the newly restored digital media work “Hand-drawn Spaces” (1998), a virtual dance installation by Merce Cunningham, Paul Kaiser and Shelley Eshkar that presents 3D hand-drawn figures performing intricate choreography in a virtual space.
