Located on the ground floor of a former gallery space in Chelsea, the heart of New York's art scene, The Wrong Store is pop-up guerrilla shop featuring the most desired rare, limited, commissioned, exclusive and one-off works by today's preeminent contemporary artists and designers. The shelves will be stocked with works by Aldo Rossi, Marcel Wanders, Kaws, Constantin Boym, Jenny Holzer, Yves Behar, Joseph Beuys, Richard Prince, Martin Margiela, Hella Jongerius/JongeriusLab, Douglas Coupland, Rodarte, Donald Judd, Maurizio Cattelan, Sol Lewitt, Rodarte and many others. Herzog & De Meuron's limited edition of 1000 perfumes, Rotterdam, will be making its exclusive North American debut while Michel Guabert creates a special collection of music for the store.
The Wrong Store is an independent project conceived of and curated by Gregory
Krum, Director of Retail for the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, and
artist/designer Tobias Wong with the support of creative agency Work in Progress and PR firm Black Frame. Josee Lepage, creative director of Commissaires in Montréal, will be store director, with weekend manager Patrick Li.
