This event has ended.

"One Man's Battle" is the artist's debut solo exhibition in New York City. Jin Zi's cartoon features are the presentation of internal meaning that bases on the individual memory of her childhood experience.

Jin Zi was born in Liangshan, Sichuan Province in 1973. After graduating from the Sichuan Fine Arts Academy and the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Jin Zi works and lives as a professional artist in Beijing.

Jin Zi has presented her own memory in childhood by very poetical language. Differing from the common ways of cartoon expression, Jin Zi's work has been affiliated with a more personal experience. In Jin Zi's new works, she brings a cultural connotation by introducing the "drama character" to her work. This cultural symbol reflects the conflict between cultural memory and real life. The artist tends to show a sense of anxiety, in addition to the alienation of modern life, the cultural identity also missing.
