Cahit Tomruk (Birol Ünel) is a German of Turkish decent who has given up on life after the death of his wife. After attempting to commit suicide by intentionally crashing into a wall (hence the title) Cahit is sent to a psychiatric clinic where he meets Sibel Güner (Sibel Kekilli) who has also tried to commit suicide. An unusual and tumultuous love blossoms between them when Sibel convinces Cahit to marry her so that she can escape her conservative family.
