This event has ended.

Benjamin Butler presents three paintings from 2008 entitled "Dark Tree", "Dark Tree (Blue, Violet, Black)", and "Leafless Trees". These paintings are, in part, as literal as the titles suggest, but they also reflect the artist’s exploration and interest in combining varying modes of 20th century abstraction with the decorative arts, folk art, psychedelic art, and thrift store painting.

Anne Eastman's videos "Post-It Notes" and "Snow-Globe" attempt to transform those commercial products into perceptual experiences through low-tech means.
The videos allow these objects to oscillate between the promise of beauty and the reality of their lowly commercial function. A similar optical play is offered by her piece “Let Go of Your Ego”, a mirrored mobile that can be viewed as both object and reflected space, which, in this case, includes the exhibition itself.
