External Unconscious, Aaron Holz's second solo show at RARE, represents further development of his series of paintings and drawings titled Public Perversions & Delights, which is based on still and video imagery culled from Internet searches. Utilizing his signature "raking" technique and unique "abstracted hyper-realistic" style, Holz focuses on some of the more unusual phenomena that currently engage teenagers and young adults – backyard, jello, and Turkish wrestling.
