Miriam Schapiro "Mini-Retrospective"
Flomenhaft
This event has ended.
Miriam Schapiro was an initiator of the feminist art movement and was equally essential to the Pattern and Decoration movement. In her paintings and even in her prints she would always incorporate feminine content such as handkerchiefs, doilies, aprons, applied beading and more. She coined the phrase “femmage,” layering materials typically and boldly about and for women. The exhibition also features works from her collaboration series.
