This event has ended.

Featuring photographs dating from the late 1970’s to 1996, Barkley L. Hendricks’ second solo exhibition at the gallery is his first solely dedicated to his photographic work. The exhibition title "Thank You Mr. John" is a gesture of gratitude to a neighbor that gave Hendricks his first camera while he was a young man. Since then, Hendricks has always kept a camera by his side, capturing individuals and moments along the way and using it to explore a subject’s posture, attire, and mannerisms-- a relationship which has informed his illustrious painting career. Exhibition extended through June 13.
