"My work is mostly abstract and deals primarily with the relationship between inner and outer worlds. It is inspired by nature, and natural forms. Painting is a process in which the act itself is where the inherent value as an artist, for me lies. Although my visual choices are often informed by my artistic education, it is not an intellectual exercise. It is a visceral experience where a transcendence occurs. I start with an idea, yet once the painting begins to emerge, I respond to it intuitively. The connection between my inner experience and its outer manifestation becomes one. It is a pure connection, where I become a kind of channel. Painting is a spiritual experience for me."
