Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of service to 242nd Street-Van Cortlandt Park, they’ll take the “Train of Many Colors” (post WW-II IRT “SMEE” cars in a rainbow of colors) from Grand Central to Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, then North to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. Enjoy the park or stay on the train for an express run to 103rd Street. At 3 p.m. they head down to 96th Street and back up, via the 2 line to Jackson Ave, before returning to Grand Central, the final destination.
