At Nancy Margolis Gallery
Media: Graphics, Painting, Drawing

“Drawn from Maine” features seven highly accomplished artists, ranging from emerging to established, whose works on paper are attracting attention both nationally and internationally.
To varying degrees seven artists address issues of personal memory or the passage of time, either historically via the Federal-era humorous portraits of Richel or the Pop movement of the 1960s by Sprafkin. Maine’s great artistic legacy rests primarily on landscape paintings of Winslow Homer, Marsden Hartley, and Andrew Wyeth among countless others.
