James Fuentes LLC is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition "Self-Portraits 1966-2008" featuring: Rita Ackermann, Lizzi Bougatsos, Alfredo Martinez, Jonas Mekas, David Perry, Cornelius Quabeck, Stephen G. Rhodes, Lucas Samaras, Andy Warhol and David Wojnarowicz.
Intensely personal and often singular works, the self-portrait is key in shaping an artist’s identity to the public. These works function as mirrors that transform an artist’s image through filters created at
particular phases of individual practices. The resultant works are among the ultimate relics in an artist’s oeuvre.
