This event has ended.

Louis Stettner has been moving between New York and Paris for most of his life, drawing inspiration from both. He is a master of street photography and one of the most significant figures in the genre working on both sides of the Atlantic. He captures the essence of the city and the time: moments of pensive reflection and stillness, a quiet Parisian street, the wistful cafe flaneur, the silence of a store window after dusk. These are the treasures that Stettner brings to life in this collection of images. The viewer is transported across space and time through Stettner'™s lens, but these are not mementos of sentimentality, they are images of the ever-present companions of city life. Combining several different eras of work, the images of "Tresor des Rues" bring together some of Stettner's first explorations of Parisienne streets in 1949, to his fascination with color that began in the early 1970's and continues today. Louis Stettner has had a long and distinguished career in photography starting from his teenage years when he was encouraged by Alfred Stieglitz and Paul Strand.
