Transformazium and Secret Project Robot are pleased to announce an art sale and interactive experience to be held at Secret Project Robot Art Experiment. The art sale will feature artworks by Swoon, Barry Mcgee, Daphne Fitzpatrick, Paper Rad, Maya Hayuk, Faile, Kiki Smith, Steve Powers, Martha Cooper, Bill Daniel, and many more.

Events begin at 4pm on October 11th with "Braddock, PA in Context", film screenings exploring the post-industrial city, followed by a barbeque/food transformation at 5pm and sale and raffles from 6pm-10pm.

A closing dance party will be held on October 18th from 9pm-2am. Lectures and events examining the intersection of art and community in the post-industrial city will take place throughout the week.

Transformazium (www.transformazium.org) is an emerging arts organization whose mission is to use the creative process and locally identified resources to transform ideas into tangible social and economic benefits. The organization, led by internationally known artist Swoon, is in the process of aquiring an abandoned building and empty lot in Braddock, Pa, which will become a community resource center. Transformazium member Ruthie Stringer says: "Braddock is an incredibly exciting place to be. On the surface it is an economically devastated rust belt town full of poverty, drugs, abandonment, but we see great resources here, and great possibilities. The steel industry may be in deep decline, but the energy and spirit of MAKING are still very much a part of this place. We hope to use our resources as artists and creative problem solvers in collaboration with the Braddock community in order that together we can build a stronger community that is able to respond in new ways to the challenges of the post-industrial American city." Proceeds from Art Makes Eye Contact will be used to renovate the building, to implement a community silkscreen studio, and to develop arts based programming that responds to community defined needs.
