The only consistency in life is its inevitable change. Agnes Pezeu’s dynamic canvases feature bodies in a state of metamorphosis. Incorporating spontaneity into her process, Pezeu discards the brush and instead trusts the pouring of the paint to mirror her desires. Akin to the action painters of the 1940’s, Pezeu’s work is charged with unbridled energy. The freedom infusing her work is a combination of will and chance. Using only one or two colors, Pezeu magnifies the evolution of her subjects. The scale of the work engulfs the viewer, both bringing her/him into the experience and letting him/her observe it from afar. Either coupled or alone, her figures incite visceral sensations of transcendence .The graceful drips simultaneously exude acceptance and control over the flux inhabiting them.
