This event has ended.

Mokkai Nakanome is an artist and a wanderer. His grandfather Syoroku Onoe II, was one of the most famous and popular Kabuki actors of the Showa Era. The environment made it possible for him to feel Japanese traditional culture in his bones since infancy. His ink drawings in minute detail with bold structural outline and rich colors are awe-inspiring. His works depicting old Buddhist statures, ancient Noh masks, traditional crafts, fish bones and monks’ mummies with considerable humor wins support especially around the young generations. In facing the objects which don’t speak, he listens to the 'Faint voice' in his mind and expresses it on paper. In the present age when verbosity gains popularity, Mokkai keeps on creating works that convey his visual expressions without any words.
