For the months of March and April 2008, THE AGENCY OF THE ORPHAN will take up residence at Tracy Williams Ltd. to exhibit an intimate collection of archives and observations. As a private research and study endeavor, "The Agency of Orphan" investigates the cultural capital of the fictional Orphan child as a metaphor for the pursuit of
independence.
Begun informally in 1975, "The Agency of Orphan" initially took the form of practical observation, social engagement and casual play. Spearheaded by artist Anna Craycroft, it was in 2005 that THE AGENCY was given the attention and focus necessary to be undertaken in earnest. Since then Craycroft has been at work fabricating an assortment of objects and images, art and artifacts that chronicle the phenomena of ORPHAN. Please join us at Tracy Williams Ltd on March 7th 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. for the inaugural reception of this public address.
