Johannes Vermeer, one of the greatest Dutch painters, has long been thought to be a mystery man of art. Binstock has reinterpreted several key documents to bring a new perception to the work of this painter. He shows that several of the paintings accepted as canonical works by Vermeer are actually by his eldest daughter, Maria.
