Jesse McCloskey "Think on the Glass that Runs for Thee"
Christopher Henry Gallery
This event has ended.
In his new body of work McCloskey continues his exploration into dark allegorical narratives with a series of vanitas paintings. The specter of death, at times holding an hourglass, can be seen lurking throughout - his presence reminding the viewer of the transience and vanity of earthly achievements, the futility of pleasure, and the inevitability of death. But McCloskey's images are more than just important moral messages - they are exquisitely crafted collage paintings of multi - layered dreamlike landscapes.
