"Vibrant Futures" is a mini-series about a community of anarchist tree-dwelling hippies living in giant redwoods that experience a rebirth of consciousness. Originally written and conceived as a 5 hour long film, it has been subdivided into a series of open-ended episodes being produced and released in consecutive order. You are invited to view the first installment of this work in progress.
"Episode 1", a 50 min introduction to Vibrant Futures establishes the main characters and their motives; Carl, Trey, and Lucy, three tree-sitting hippies, the recently deceased Spirit Bear, dearly beloved trickster of the forest community, Spirit Bear's mourning-lover Moonface, the clairvoyant mystic, and the five Bigfoot Brothers who farm psychedelic mushrooms that are loosely connected by a set of seemingly insignificant objects; a mysterious purple hat, pinecones, mushrooms, and green sneakers. These insubstantial commodities gradually gain significance, guiding our protagonists on a journey of self-discovery in the episodes that follow.
