In a first New York City solo show, Marylynn Charnas exhibits thirty-one representational images created on site in New York (city and state), Israel, and Baltimore - spanning the years 1995 to 2008. Her appealing cityscapes, landscapes, and garden scenes concern both interests and involvements that have their origin and substance in the spirit of a place. The images evoke and intuitively reveal that spirit with varied painterly textures, subtle and clear vivid color in watercolors, oils and mixed media works.
