Julie Metz creates works on paper and canvas inspired by the rough and moody island shoreline of Swan¹s Island, Maine. Her fascination and focus is the challenge of capturing the fleeting moment as light plays over water and immovable granite. In addition to several exhibitions in 2009, including a two-person show with her father, landscape artist Frank Metz, Julie Metz will publish her first book on June 9, 2009, a memoir titled Perfection with Voice/Hyperion.
