1018 Art is pleased to announce the exhibition Banners featuring a selection of Mike Kelley’s collaged textile works created between 1985 and 1993. This body of work includes large-scale pieces made of felt, a medium associated with infancy. The show incorporates Kelley’s engagement with exposed prejudices; repression, popular cultures, adolescence and sexuality, and transmits his working in a quasi-religious mystery. The pathetic in the work of Mike Kelley, is often associated with weakness and conveys an utterly immature style.
