This event has ended.

13 large-scale, unique photographic works collaboratively created by William T. Hillman and Lia Chavez created within the past year will be exhibited. These photographs explore light and space, while abstractly presenting the figure as form. Sangster writes "For Hillman and Chavez the lure of light coupled with the lure of the body- in particular bodies in motion or bodies under tension, physical or psychological- is accentuated through the elaboration of a new, hybrid photographic technique that enmeshes digital photography, with traditional photography and the static silhouette system of the photogram."

The Hillman/ Chavez collection is otherworldly, stunning, and gives a multidimensional view of the dancers in the work. The large scale photographs, which look more like paintings, capture the transformation and movement of the dancer, while inviting you into their ecstatic world. I was deeply moved by these grand figures and left feeling like I witnessed a sacred ceremony.

I cannot believe a show of this quality is not being written about everywhere as this exhibition showcases a welcome revolution in digital photography as a pure art form. I think your description here is interesting although I found the content and form, both technically challenging and intricate. The final delivery is an exhibition of emotionally charged body of work. It is obvious to me Lia Chavez is both inspiring and incredibly talented on the rise. It is also to see a fine artist of William Hillman’s calibre working in a contemporary collaboration.

The exhibition is not to be missed. Urge, Go and Rise are breathtaking.

This show was captivating, and the photographs were true pieces of art. I was very pleased with what I saw, and I highly recommend to anyone who appreciates beautiful imagery to see the exhibition.
